Electrician

Location: Leabrooks, DE55 1LN
Salary: £41,464
Contract Type: {Type}
Status: {Status}
Expiry Date: 15/11/2026 23:59

Put your skills to work where they make a difference.

There’s more to a great repair than fixing a fault. It’s taking the time to explain what you’re doing, treating someone’s home with care and leaving them confident that the job’s been done properly.

We’re looking for an Electrician to join our Repairs Team at Futures Housing Group, helping us keep our customers’ homes safe and well maintained. You’ll use your skills to deliver quality work and a service our customers can rely on.

You’ll carry out electrical repairs and maintenance, find and fix faults, and inspect, test and commission installations in our customers’ homes. You’ll assess what’s needed and complete work safely, with as little disruption as possible.

Alongside the practical work, you’ll arrange access when needed, keep customers informed and work closely with colleagues to keep jobs moving. You’ll complete the relevant checks and certification, keep your van stock replenished and help support apprentices as they develop their skills.

Every visit is a chance to make someone’s day a little easier, and you’ll take pride in getting the details right.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be someone who takes as much care with customers as you do with your work. You’ll be comfortable explaining things clearly, adapting to customers’ needs and taking responsibility for a job well done.

You’ll need:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations and AM2, or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 2391, or 2394/2395, Inspection and Testing qualifications.
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations, including Part P and other relevant requirements.
  • A safe, thorough approach to your work and a commitment to providing great customer service.

An 18th Edition qualification would be a bonus, but if you’re qualified to the 17th Edition, we’d still love to hear from you. PAT testing experience and qualifications, along with ECS health and safety certification, would also be great to bring to the role.

You’ll need a full UK driving licence for the role.

Sounds like me, so what are you offering?

Your working week will be 37 hours, Monday to Thursday, 8am–4pm, and Friday, 8am–3.30pm, with a 30-minute lunch break each day. You’ll be paid monthly, and you’ll have 25 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays and concessionary days at Christmas.

There’s room to grow and develop here, with competitive benefits and a real focus on your health and wellbeing. You’ll also be doing work that makes a difference, helping people and communities across our region to thrive.

We’re proud of our Investors in People Platinum accreditation. The award recognises organisations which are passionate about making sure all employees get the best experience at work.
